Luke 2
In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to the Galilean village of Nazareth to a virgin engaged to be married to a man descended from David. His name was Joseph, and the virgin’s name, Mary. Upon entering, Gabriel greeted her:
Good morning!
You’re beautiful with God’s beauty,
Beautiful inside and out!
God be with you.
She was thoroughly shaken, wondering what was behind a greeting like that. But the angel assured her, “Mary, you have nothing to fear. God has a surprise for you: You will become pregnant and give birth to a son and call his name Jesus.
He will be great,
be called ‘Son of the Highest.’
The Lord God will give him
the throne of his father David;
He will rule Jacob’s house forever—
no end, ever, to his kingdom.”
Mary said to the angel, “But how? I’ve never slept with a man.”
The angel answered,
The Holy Spirit will come upon you,
the power of the Highest hover over you;
Therefore, the child you bring to birth
will be called Holy, Son of God.
“And did you know that your cousin Elizabeth conceived a son, old as she is? Everyone called her barren, and here she is six months pregnant! Nothing, you see, is impossible with God.”
And Mary said,
Yes, I see it all now:
Why Did Mary say yes? Was this an easy answer to give.
There were a lot of problems when she said yes.
What would Joseph say or do?

What about her parents? Would they believe her baby was the Son of God.
Why did Mary say yes to God?
At the dump in Tijuana Mexico, many poor people live there. They live in the middle of all the filth, the trash, the smell, the Germs, the rats, and bugs.
When a garbage truck enters the dump, many will run behind the truck to the place it will dump it’s load. They search the garbage for anything they can use or sale for pennies.
It’s a very hard life, and one that is hard to look upon.
There in the dump are 3 Christian women who are nurses and they live there with the people. They live with the smell, the rats and everything you find at the dump.
In a distance there is a field of crosses made of sticks marking the graves of those who lived and died in the dump.
Why would these 3 Christian women stay there, and help the people?
Cut and Separate and let each child draw one from a cup.
Let the children tell what job they drew. And ask if Jesus asked you to spend your life doing this job, would you? Why? Why not?

Mary said yes, because she love God and wanted to be his servant.
Because of Mary the very first Christmas came on the Birthday of Jesus.
